Saturday, July 7 - Depart Los Angeles onboard the Palm Leaf at 9:30AM. Enjoy the beautiful ride up the coast and overnight on the train. (CB,L,D)
Sunday, July 8 - Arrive in Klamath Falls at 8AM and transfer to our motorcoach. Tour Lava Tubes National Monument prior to arrival in Ashland, OR where we spent 3 nights at the Stratford Inn. Shakespeare's Merry Wives of Winsor play at 8:30pm. (CB,D)
Monday, July 9 - All day guided tour of scenic Crater Lake. Your evening is free. (CB)
Tuesday, July 10 - Half day river float (no white water), includes snacks. Optional whitewater, fishing,mountain biking available. Shakespeare backstage tour if space available. Your afternoon is free. Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice play at 8:30pm. (CB,D)
Wednesday, July 11 - Travel to California Redwoods via Cave Junction. Overnight at Brookings Best Western Beachfront Inn. (CB)
Thursday, July 12 - Visit Cape Blanco or Cape Araqgo. Stop at Bandon's West Coast Game Park. Later visit a botanical garden with the unusual Cobra Lilies (eats insects). Overnight at Florence Driftwood Shores Condos. (O)
Friday, July 13 - Easy 1 hour dune buggy ride on the Oregon Dunes. Visit the sea lion caves. Afternoon transfer in Eugene for 5:15 train home, crossing the Cascades in the evening. (D)
Saturday, July 14 - A morning run next to beautiful Suisun Bay. Later we travel through the Salinas Valley and down Cuesta grade, rounding Horseshoe Curve just outside of San Luis Obispo. More spectacular scenery as we pass through Vandenberg AFB and along the coast prior to our arrival at 9:15 in Los Angeles. (CB,L,D) |
